Why Am I Awake at 3AM?

Am I the only one that has struggled with this? You are super tired, fall asleep quickly, but consistently find your self stirring and waking up around 3 AM? This is often an indicator of a hormone imbalance. The good news is, once you know that, you can take action to make changes. The early morning waking is often related to our adrenal health, if you are nearing menopause it can also be connected with your sex hormones changing. Start by minimizing caffeine during the day and maybe even cutting it out altogether (I know – you didn’t sleep well and need the boost – trust me though). Add on high quality nutrients and stop skipping meals. Feeling absolutely exhausted after your workouts? You may need to shift the type of workout for a while to something more restorative. These aren’t quick fixes but addressing the root cause is so much more impactful for your long term health.
